Tell us about your childhood bedroom?
My childhood bedroom was a dark navy blue, covered in yellow suns, moons, and stars. I guess I liked color drenching even then!
What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? Two original rosewood Eames chairs and ottomans from the 1960s. They currently live in my upstate house.
In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Thomas O’Brien
No room is complete without a natural material.
People think of me as a contemporary designer, but I am really more of a traditionalist.

If you were on an Ambien high and internet shopping, what would you buy? Probably some expensive jewelry or shoes - I have my eye on a pair of Manolos.
Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, if so, how? Yes. My clothes are eclectic like our design style, and can vary based on my mood similarly to how we vary design choices depending on a client’s taste and personality.
Who is your star crush? Jeremy Allen White or Justin Bieber
What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it? A Patterned Sofa
What design book do you find yourself going back to again and again? Any of Carlos Mota’s, but I have also been very into Brazilian design lately and have looked a lot to Sergio Rodrigues and Arthur Casas for inspiration.
For posterity, what would you like your work to be known for? My signature design style, layered minimalism!
