Welcome

“As a resident of the world of design since birth, I’d like to take some time to celebrate some of the people and things in that world that I admire. I hope you come along for the ride. And, as my name has really taken a beating these last couple of years, -thank you Mr. Bezos, - feel free to think of me here by my nickname: Lex. And, please also enjoy this completely un-recognizable and years old headshot.” - Alexa Hampton

If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live?  Mustique

What are three words to describe your style?

  • Elegant

  • Individually Curated

  • Timeless

Tell us about your childhood bedroom? My Mother was a designer and worked with me to design my room several times. My favorite version had pink and white Robert Indiana LOVE Drapery and colorful patchwork wallpaper. I wish I still had those draperies.

What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? I worked for Donghia for 7 years, so my first pieces were purchased from them over the years – sofa, cocktail table, end tables, marble candlesticks, and a marble vase.

In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Bunny Williams

No room is complete without Flowers

People think of me as Preppy, but I really have lived more on the wild side than people know – (Save the Robots in the 80’s).

Things you omit from

  • A flower arrangement: Carnations

  • An hors d’oeuvre platter: Nothing. It’s a creative venture.

  • A bar cabinet: Tall Bar Glasses

A song for

  • Dinner at home: Classic Carols at Christmas Time

  • Working at your desk: Edited songs from 90s Rock

  • Going for a run: Katrina and the Waves

Biggest Vice? Dark Chocolate with peanut or almond butter

If you were on an Ambien high and internet shopping, what would you buy? That is such a scary thought… the possibilities are endless with LiveAuctioneers’ China and Sterling Silver pieces.

Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, if so, how? Yes, an interesting spin on a classic foundation.

Who is your star crush? Mark Harmon

What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it?  Minimalist Design

What design book do you find yourself going back to again and again? There are several I refer to whether looking for drapery or ceiling inspiration, but one in particular is Bunny Williams’ Point of View

For posterity, what would you like your work to be known for?  Classic and livable homes that reflect the owner’s style and our creativity.
