If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live? The South of France. Somewhere I can wander through a market in the morning, sip rosé in the afternoon, and host long dinners that somehow turn into dancing. My husband and I honeymooned in Provence, so a piece of my heart will always belong to the Mediterranean.
What are three words to describe your style? Elevated. Effortless. Livable.
Tell us about your childhood bedroom. It was yellow, striped wallpaper with tiny flowers, and I shared it with my sister. Everything coordinated perfectly. Looking back, it was probably my first lesson in design. At the time, though, I couldn't wait to leave for college.
What is the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? A long dining table crafted from English cathedral oak. It cost more than I thought any table should. It became the center of everything: family dinners, homework, art projects, games, puzzles, and celebrations. I still have it today, and every mark on it tells a story.
In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Coco Chanel. Not because she was an interior designer, but because she understood something bigger: luxury is personal. The most beautiful spaces, like the most beautiful wardrobes, tell the story of the person who lives there.
No room is complete without: A story.
People think of me as ________, but I am really ________. People think of me as all business and drive, and there's certainly a lot of that, but I am really a mom first, someone who loves to laugh, and someone who genuinely cares about the people around me.
Things you omit from:
A flower arrangement: Perfection.
An hors d'oeuvre platter: Anything requiring utensils.
A bar cabinet: Cheap tequila.
A song for:
Dinner at home: La Vie En Rose (or anything that sounds like it belongs in a French jazz café).
Working at your desk: Levitating by Dua Lipa and Titanium by Sia.
Going for a run: Anything by Drake, because apparently anxiety runs faster when Drake is involved.
Biggest vice? Online shopping after a glass of wine.
If you were on an Ambien high and internet shopping, what would you buy? Anything Hermès, a piece of art I absolutely don't need, and first-class tickets somewhere with great weather.
Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility? If so, how? Absolutely. I gravitate toward neutrals, beautiful tailoring, and quality fabrics. I also love classic preppy style because it reminds me of what felt just out of reach growing up in Connecticut. I think that's part of why I've always been drawn to creating beautiful things, there's something powerful about turning aspiration into reality.
Who is your star crush? David Beckham.
What is the thing you would never do on a project, but do not mind when others do it? A completely white room. Life is messy. Your home should be beautiful enough to survive it.
What design book do you return to again and again? Tom Ford. It's bold, glamorous, and a reminder that luxury is ultimately about confidence.
For posterity, what would you like your work to be known for? Making luxury feel personal. Beautiful homes are easy. Beautiful lives are harder.
