Welcome

“As a resident of the world of design since birth, I’d like to take some time to celebrate some of the people and things in that world that I admire. I hope you come along for the ride. And, as my name has really taken a beating these last couple of years, -thank you Mr. Bezos, - feel free to think of me here by my nickname: Lex. And, please also enjoy this completely un-recognizable and years old headshot.” - Alexa Hampton

If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live?
London - Lee Ann
The Cotswolds - Allie

What are three words to describe your style?
1. Collected 2. Warm-welcoming 3. Storied - Lee Ann
1. Colorful 2. Cozy 3. Tailored - Allie

Tell us about your childhood bedroom?
Keep in mind it was th 70’s so there was lots of patchwork pillows, some made by myself. I loved on saturdays to take my bike down to the local sewing shop and come home and cut up fabrics and sew pillows. i changed them out every few months. - Lee Ann
As you can imagine with Lee Ann as my mom, my childhood bedroom was perfection. Lots of pink and green, checks and the coziest bed imaginable. Nothing was too perfect but my mom invested in pieces that I have now in my house today and I am forever grateful for that. - Allie

What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house?
Thirty years ago I purchased a pair Rose Tarlow club chairs. They were covered in a Rose Cummings red stripe and I still have them to this day. recovered of course. Buy well once and things can last forever. - Lee Ann
I bought an antique suzani a few years ago that makes me so happy every time I see it. It is a piece of art in itself that I am going to frame or upholster something fabulous with it. - Allie

In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be?
Sister Parish or the dynamic duo Diamond Baratta - Lee Ann
I would enlist the past and future of Colefax and Fowler, Robert Banks Pye and Emma Burns or Rita Konig - Allie

Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, if so, how?
I design with comfort in mind and my clothing is very similar although I tend to dress with little pattern unlike my interiors. - Lee Ann
I rarely decorate with any gray nor wear it. Comfort and color are how I like to decorate and definitely how I like to dress. The majority of my wardrobe is filled with patchwork coats, blue jeans, colorful prints and cashmere sweaters. - Allie
