Welcome

“As a resident of the world of design since birth, I’d like to take some time to celebrate some of the people and things in that world that I admire. I hope you come along for the ride. And, as my name has really taken a beating these last couple of years, -thank you Mr. Bezos, - feel free to think of me here by my nickname: Lex. And, please also enjoy this completely un-recognizable and years old headshot.” - Alexa Hampton

If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live? Hudson Valley. I’m obsessed with @ahouseupstate

What are three words to describe your style?

  • Thoughtful

  • Layered

  • Fun

Tell us about your childhood bedroom? Lots of white wicker paired with classic Laura Ashley florals!

What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? My first big purchase was a Loom & Co Oushak for my dining room. It now lives in my studio and it’s still one of my favorites.

In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Past - Sister Parish, Present - Maggie Getz

No room is complete without original art

Things you omit from

  • A flower arrangement: all florals welcome here!

  • An hors d’oeuvre platter: olives

  • A bar cabinet: Aperol

 A song for

  • Dinner at home: anything from Olivia Dean

  • Working at your desk: Forever by Noah Kahan

  • Going for a run: 2005-2007 rap hits (the best years!)

Biggest Vice? Daily Diet Coke & little sweet treat

If you were on an Ambien high and internet shopping, what would you buy? Mahjong tiles - I’m eyeing these: https://www.dearmahjong.com/products/pre-order-tiles-the-original-in-white

What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it? Unexpected Red theory

What design book do you find yourself going back to again and again? I love Caroline Gidiere’s Interiors for a Life in Good Taste

For posterity, what would you like your work to be known for? Putting a smile on your face!
